We visited the Ragged School Museum (”experience the life of the Victorian poor”) in November and were treated to a lively talk on Barnardo and the history of the Ragged Schools – see www.raggedschoolmuseum.org.uk. Housed in Dr Barnardo’s largest Ragged School, this small independent museum in Mile End preserves and promotes the history of London’s East End.
Badly behaved U3A members were subjected to strict discipline by ‘Miss’:
