Learning groups are the heart of Hackney U3A. Here members share ideas and learning, and have fun doing it.
Each group has a leader, who acts as an organiser and a point of contact for further information. You are advised to contact the leader before coming to the group.
Although in principle group activities are free to members, it may be necessary to ask for a payment from time to time – e.g. to cover the cost of an outing, or provide materials. Group leaders will inform you if this is necessary.
We have 18 learning groups, with more in the pipeline. If you have an idea for a new group and would like help in getting it going, email or write to Patience Champion: ecneitap@tiscali.co.uk. NOTE: Some members have been suggesting a Poetry Appreciation Group. If you are at all interested in such a group do let Patience Champion know and a preliminary get-together will be arranged.
The current list, including some groups that are under development, is shown in the right hand column of this page, and you can find out more about them by clicking on the name of the group.
________________________________________________________________________________________________How How do I join a group?
All members are free to join any group unless the group is already fully subscribed. Normally you should contact the group leader before turning up. Some groups require members to sign up at the beginning of the course, while others are open at all times. Again, contact the group leader to check.
